The Use and Access Committee of the MeDIZ.RUB (Kopie 1)
Researchers can submit applications for the use of patient data to MeDIZ.RUB. These data usage applications are reviewed by MeDIZ.RUB and then forwarded to the Use and Access Committee (UAC).
The UAC consists of representatives of the UK RUB and our faculty, who review the applications in terms of subject matter and content. The interdisciplinary composition of the UAC enables a well-founded evaluation of the research projects, taking into account the ethics vote, which must be submitted together with the data use application.
Information on the application process

First step: Researchers contact the staff at MeDIZ.RUB, who provide advice and support with the application. All relevant documents are then submitted by the researchers. MeDIZ.RUB provides researchers with a checklist for this section. (Link to the checklist)
Second step: After checking, these documents are forwarded to the UAC by MeDIZ.RUB staff. The UAC evaluates the data usage application and communicates its vote to MeDIZ.RUB.
Third step: The MeDIZ.RUB staff informs the researchers of the UAC's vote. This can be a positive, negative or conditional vote. Based on the vote, the next steps are discussed individually. If the vote is positive, a data usage agreement is concluded between MeDIZ.RUB and the researchers.
