Extramural funding

The Research Department of the Faculty of Medicine at Ruhr-Universität Bochum is actively involved in the promotion and support of extramurally funded research projects. By providing targeted advice and support in the acquisition of external funding, it enables scientists to realize their research projects beyond institutional budgets.

A particular focus is on identifying suitable funding programs from third-party funding bodies such as the DFG, the BMBF, the EU, foundations or industrial partners. The Research Unit supports researchers with applications, administrative processing and strategic networking in order to maximize the chances of success for funding.

Extramural funding facilitates the implementation of innovative projects, especially in cooperation with external partners such as clinics, companies or non-profit organizations. In this way, the Research Unit helps to ensure that scientific findings are applied more quickly and contribute to improving medical care and public health.

Foundation funding

In addition to internal faculty research funding as part of the FoRUM program, applications for funding from the foundations listed below can also be submitted to the Research Department.
